Collectors from Jukeboxes speak a lot over the Jukeboxes from the 1950, but the most collectible from those Jukeboxes are made just between 1955 and 1959.
During 1955 and 1959 the number of records the jukeboxes could play increased from earlier 50 to 52 records, named 100 and 104 selectíons, up to 100 records called 200 selections.

Vinyl Jukeboxes are classified after selections, which is the sides at the vinyl records.

This Seeburg VL 200 selections from 1956 can play 100 records.

From 1960 the selections for the Jukeboxes dropped down to 160 selections, 104 selections and 100 selections, and Jukeboxes playing vinyl records with 200 selections were never more made.
Following is the story from the man who started the production from Seeburg´s Jukeboxes in America.

1886, only sixteen Years old Justus P Sjöberg from Gothenburg in Sweden emigrate to America.

In America he changed his last name to Seeburg, and started working with automatic pianoes.

1906 Justus P Seeburg started his own Piano business, and 1928 he presented his first Jukebox.

The Seeburg V-200 introduced in August 1955 was the first 200 selections Jukebox ever made.

The Seeburg V-200 Jukebox is looking similar to the Seeburg VL-200 Jukebox I present here, differ in cabinet finish and trim, the color of some of the exposed mechanism parts.

In October 1956 the Seeburg VL-200 was introduced on the market.

Today 55 Years old, my Seeburg VL is still working very good, and this is the " King " of the 1950´s Jukeboxes.

The item beside the amplifier is the stepper.

With a stepper in the jukebox You can connect wallboxes to the jukebox.

Those wallboxes let You from distance away from the jukebox give information which melody the jukebox shall play.

In American movies from the 1950 and 1960, You can see those wallboxes at each table in the cafe´s.
